    1. As the absolute and most devoted fan of The Who, I feel especially stupid having to ask the following question: Was this 1975 gig general admission, as I recall it? I’ve read so many different blogs and comments and posts from people today alone that I’m getting 1975 and 1979 shows mixed up (maybe, lol). I was fortunate enough to see them at Masonic Temple, Detroit in November 1979 as well as both Silverdome concerts in ‘75 and ‘79. Maybe it’s because I got smashed and trampled (‘75) that I am associating that experience with ‘Cincinnati’ - as if it came next. It was my first Who Concert, too! And, even though I had parked myself in front row, center, for HOURS before the show, I wound up mid-field when I was able to come-to and figure out what happened. Believe me, I was well aware of the trouble that was brewing beforehand, but I didn’t expect it to get so dangerous! (Pete had instructed-yelled; refusing to play if we didn’t stop the stampede up front.) It was scary for awhile down there! Maybe it was a blessing I got knocked out? Any way, I survived but lost my perfect spot. THAT was 1975! (Shakily said)
So, can someone clarify things for me re these shows? I have been thinking that the Tragedy in Cincinnati happened in 1975! My reality then was I was 15 year old, seeing The Who (my dream Band then and still) and being a teen of the times; I was stoned ! I wish I hadn’t been though. Well, maybe it helped me through the worst of the turmoil, idk. Masonic made up for all of the struggles, I must say! I hope someone understands my blabbering....1)what show was when 2) general admission ?
      3) year of Cincinnati Tragedy?
      4) Masonic was 1979, right?
      5) btw, I remember hearing 1x on WRIF about The Who appearing at Masonic. I called a friend and told him I didn’t even know if it were true, but I knew I heard it! Hoping it wasn’t a hoax,
he zipped down there to get tickets (only way possible to buy them; at the venue)....in other words, I don’t remember much advertising or anything. Do you?

I was there in the front row. We had our arms hanging over the barrier wall and we were packed in so tight that our feet were off the ground and there were people under our feet, but there was nothing we could do. People were passing out everywhere and there limp bodies were being passed over our heads to security on the other side of the barrier in front of the stage. Security started passing out ice cold cans of Fanta Orange soda to the squashed people in the front row. I wish there were pictures. It was wild.

  4. I remember having to sprint to the find the best seats. It was open seating and once the doors were unlocked fans swarmed in running in mad dash fashion.
